The piratesWeek is on hiatus untill June. Due to a flair up of carpel tunnel I am unable to produce the program. Other than that I am in good health & spirits (mostly burbon) and am finding out about life outside the radio shack (who knew?).

Really good show this week. with several tidbits from the WBNY's Commander Bunny.
Starting off with a few thoughts from me including the HCJB DX partyline did an interview with‭ ‬Radio Taiwan's International Lionel Lee & a listener emails ito name the band The Slits that was played last week by a UNID.
One news story, Ofcom has raided a pirate radio station in Sussex which was set up simply to relay the broadcasts of a French radio station.

  The chance to hold your puke 10.5 hours after drinking beer all night and hear Poncho ride just to blow chow in your own cammode 10 min after arriveing home.......

  Priceless.

The FCC announced today that it moved a "Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture" to a "Forfeiture Order" against Shawn Deroux for operating a radio station at 87.9-FM in the Bronx without a license. That means Deroux isn't paying his $10,000 fine, and the FCC slowly stepping up their efforts to get him to pay.

From Slashdot Review is a story about Voip Number stations. From The Media Geek is a story about Making Waves, the documentary movie about pirate radio is being shown around the country.  A  story  from
  P2PNet about the Pirate Party in Austria.
I go though selected posts from the FRN and ALT.Radio.Pirate as well as the stations heard via the electronic newsletter The Free Radio Weekly.
Off air recordings include stations of WBNY, MAC Shortwave, and WTPR.
Other stories covered include an email reply of last shows story on the ionisphere as a radiating antenna . A story from Science at Nasa about backwards Sunspots.
TWIAR random access thought played a bit from last winterfest: Steve Mcneil from Boston shared his unique stream of consciousness thoughts on radios & electronics, from the hospitality room heres a bit from last winterfest.

No pirates in the news this week but I do share a tin foil hat moment. From the World of Radio the FCC is hiring HF radio direction finders.

We read through selected post on the F.R.N. and Alt.Radio.Pirate as well as note the pirates logged on The Free Radio Weekly.

Off air recording this week MAC shortwave, Johnny Guitarman with a 70's Hard Rock Show.

In other radio news; Researchers at Samsung in Korea are now working on a way to turn the ionosphere into an antenna. I also stumbled across DJ Frederick's the /wave project. He also has another blog Seldom Heard Radio.
***Call it serendipity, DJ Frederick released the third issue of the /wave project this Sunday afternoon***
